Tanggai dance : ウィキペディア英語版 | Tanggai dance
Tanggai dance is a South Sumatran traditional dance from Palembang that is performed to welcome the honored guests or visitors. The dance is usually performed during a wedding reception. This dance reflects the graceful pride and hospitality of South Sumatran people. The dance was named ''tanggai'' because the dancer uses ''tanggai'' (a bronze imitation fingernail). Tanggai dance uses costumes and equipment similar to Gending Sriwijaya dance, but the latter is more elaborate, uses more equipment and performed by nine dancers, while Tanggai dance is only performed by five dancers. Tanggai dancers wear special regional clothing, such as songket cloth, ''dodot'' (batik wraparound worn by courtiers and bridegrooms), ''pending'' (ornate belt buckle), necklace, a ''malang'' hair bun, ''kembang urat'' or ''ramai'' hair ornaments, ''tajuk cempako'' and ''tanggai''. ==See also==
